A weekend of performances at the San Antonio Missions National Historic Park (an UNESCO World Heritage Site) to promote the awareness of the historical, musical, and architectural wealth of the Americas featuring musical works written for the Cathedrals and Missions of Latin America during the XVIII Century.
Our closing event will feature members of the youth ensemble Esperanza Azteca de la Universidad Autónoma Ciudad Juárez (MX) at UNESCO World Heritage Site Mission San Jose, performing Ignacio de Jerusalém's Misa de Infantes, written in the 18th century for the children choir of Cathedral of Mexico, contemporary to the building of the Mission. The festival aims to promote:
- the convergence between major educational and artistic institutions, in particular children and youth ensembles, promoting a healthy cultural and social exchange between communities from several cities and countries;
- the richness of the musical culture in the Americas, encompassing several centuries;
- the architectural, engineering and artistic achievements of the local communities of the Western USA.
